Potassium iodate

Potassium iodate is a colorless granule or white crystalline powder, odorless and slightly astringent in taste. It is soluble in water and dilute sulfuric acid, and in potassium iodide solution, but insoluble in ethanol and liquid ammonia. It is commonly used as an analytical reagent, oxidant and oxidation-reduction titrant.
