Potassium iodide

Potassium iodide is a colorless crystal or white crystalline powder, odorless, with a strong bitter and salty taste. It is yellow when iodine is easily released in the air. It is soluble in ethanol, propanol, methanol, glycerol and liquid chlorine, and highly soluble in water. The aqueous solution is neutral or weakly acidic. Potassium iodide is often used in food additives, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and other fields.
